Fascinating reading. Just a quick comment on a specific passage - I find it interesting that you were home on the day of the shuttle Challenger tragedy. I, too, was home from school, that day. I remember it, well. I was in the "media room" (for lack of better name, for it), listening to my brother's Moody Blues "Wildest Dreams" single. My mother tapped my shoulder and said something. I couldn't tell exactly what she said, because I was wearing full-sized earphones, with the music at a moderately loud level. It SOUNDED like my mother said, "You should watch TV - the shuttle is going to blow up." So, I turned the record player off, went into the Living Room, and plunked down in front of the TV. About a minute into the launch, I asked my mother, "So, when is the shuttle going to blow up?" Her reply was, "What?" Shortly after that, it happened. The shuttle's failure. My mother asked, "How did you know that was going to happen?" Looking at the TV, I realized that what we were watching was happening, LIVE. I misunderstood my mother. She said, the shuttle was going to GO up... not BLOW up. But, my misunderstanding happened. That day will be fresh in my mind, forever.

Anyway, I thought I would share that, with you. I enjoy your writing and your art. Very engaging.
